#1 Checklist

Review the Membership Overview section to determine whether your membership is Open or Private and whether Rolling or Fixed.

1. Create Membership Group(s) - View FAQ
2. Setting up Membership Type - View FAQ
3. Create Member Dues Categories - View FAQ
4. If applicable, create member fields in X-CD Default Contact Form - View FAQ
   • NOTE: If using X-CD for Member Sign-up, add fields to the X-CD Default Contact Form and define fields that are only applicable for the Member Sign-up.

Importing Members from a legacy membership system

NOTE: Do NOT import members into a group for CLOSED memberships. Assign dues to the group/member and upon payment, the person will be added to the group and the proper expiry date will be set by the system.

For OPEN memberships, it is important to include an expiry date in the import file when importing contacts. If an expiry date is not included and contacts are imported into a member group, memberships will never expire.

1. Create Member Import file using the Contact Import template file - View FAQ
   
   • NOTE: For fields that are not defined in the Contact Import template, Contact X-CD for a custom import template.
2. Import Members using Contact Import - View FAQ
   
   • NOTE: If using a custom import template, send the import file to X-CD once it has been populated for X-CD to perform the import.
